Webinar biotech

In this webinar, Think Tank Europa has invited leading experts from the US, the UK, and the EU to give us a glimpse into the thinking and priorities behind their biotech initiatives and to share key lessons learned from their approaches.

Biotechnology and biomanufacturing have become pivotal sectors in the global industrial policy race and both the US, the UK, and the EU have made it their mission to promote regional champions in the field of Biotechnology.

In September 2022, the Biden Administration fired the starting gun with the announcement of its ‘Executive Order on Advancing Biotechnology and Biomanufacturing Innovation for a Sustainable, Safe, and Secure American Bioeconomy’.

This was followed in December 2023 by the UK’s ‘National Vision for Engineering Biology’ that elevated bioengineering to a sector of strategic importance with an ambition to “cement the UK’s place as a world leader in the field”.

In her 2023 State of the European Union speech, Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced that the EU would present its own ‘Biotechnology and Biomanufacturing Initiative' in the first quarter of 2024.

In this webinar, Think Tank Europa has invited leading experts from the US, the UK, and the EU to give us a glimpse into the thinking and priorities behind their biotech initiatives and to share key lessons learned from their approaches.
